So, you’ve found yourself on Australia’s premier romantic destination…with the kids. Lucky Hamilton Island offers plenty of fun activities during the school holidays for the whole family!

Here’s our top 5 things to do with the kids on your family getaway!

Junior Lifeguard Program
Being safe around the water is important. It’s also incredibly enjoyable to learn the basics of water safety thanks to The Royal Lifesaving Society Queensland’s Junior Lifeguard program! Ideal for kids during the school holidays, this program is fun, active and teaches children of all ages basic CPR, how to rescue others, and what to look for in the water. Plus, all participants receive a Junior Lifeguard certificate on completion of the session!

Dinghy Hire
Touring the waterways, islands and secluded coves by dinghy is the perfect, family friendly way to spend a day out on the water. Try your hand at fishing, or take a day pack and ‘discover’ your own secret sandy spot to send the afternoon. For more information on dinghy hire, speak to our friendly staff at reception.

With an existing coral reef teeming with sea life only a short stroll from Catseye Beach – the beach adjacent to our apartments – we proudly boast one of the best locations for easy snorkeling adventures. And because your kids will love getting up close with the life below the waves, it’s one of the best activities for making memories. Hiring gear is easy and affordable. Just talk to our reception to find out more.

Wild Life Hamilton Island
WILD LIFE Hamilton Island is one of the most impressive and hands-on animal adventure parks in Queensland, and it’s located really close to our apartments. Go on an Australian Animal Adventure as you meet some of the most loved, feared and unique animals. Daily tours, feeding sessions and animal photo experiences are available, as well as their truly unique Breakfast with
the Koalas.

Whitehaven Beach
Whitehaven Beach is just half an hour from Hamilton Island on a high-speed catamaran and is famous for its impossibly white sand. In fact, in 2013 it was named the ‘number one beach in Australia’ by the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Beaches Awards and just last year, it was rated #1 Beach in the South Pacific. One of nature’s most alluring spectacles, a family day out on Whitehaven Beach is sure to stay with you and the kids, always.
