No, this is not a drill. Yes, we are super excited. 

Our home, the Whitsunday Islands, has once again topped the Condé Nast Traveler list of the best islands in Australia & the South Pacific and we can’t help but feel proud. 

The Condé Nast Traveler released their 32nd annual Readers’ Choice Awards last week and Whitsunday Islands ranked number one out of the Top 5 Islands in Australia & the South Pacific. 

While we had some serious competition, including some of the most iconic islands in the region, the Whitsundays still blew them out of the water (pun intended). The other finalists for the coveted spot included Bora Bora, Tahiti, Tasmania and Fiji. These are some seriously amazing contenders to be up against so it’s a pretty big deal. 

Nevertheless, we couldn’t agree more with Tourism Whitsundays CEO Tash Wheeler, who believes that this is a deserving win for the Whitsundays Islands.

“Long have we locals known the amazing beauty of the Whitsunday Islands, it’s fantastic to see this group of islands receiving this prestigious award from Condé Nast Traveler.

“All the islands listed as finalists are truly beautiful, to win against the likes of Bora Bora & Tahiti really cements The Whitsundays as a world-class destination. We now have more islands resorts open than in the previous years. The Whitsundays is the Heart of Island Escapes!”

Whitehaven Beach, known for its glorious stretch of pure white sand, also got a special mention. 

As part of the Whitsundays family, we are definitely ecstatic to hear the news. Here at Whitsunday Apartments Hamilton Island, we are so happy that more and more people are able to come enjoy the beauty of our region. 

We couldn’t feel more lucky to get to play our own part in sharing the magic of the Whitsunday Islands with people from all over the world.
