Spring has arrived, and we are forecasting happy holiday goers, with a high chance of relaxation!

We get lots of questions asking what time of the year is the best time to visit. This can be a hard question to answer…
How do you choose between beautiful weather and amazing weather?
But here goes. Spoiler alert: you really can’t go wrong.
January - March
During the Aussie summer, we experience a gloriously hot and humid tropical climate. Temperatures average around 29°C, and the island experiences it’s most rainfall during this time.
January is a very popular time to come to Hamilton Island so be sure to get in quick and book in advance! Being school holidays, it’s a great time for a family getaway.
If you have kids under school age or are looking for a romantic getaway, February and March are perfect times to avoid some of the hustle and bustle!
April - June
During these months the weather ranges from mild to warm. With less rainy days and more blue skies, it’s a fantastic time to be on Hamilton Island soaking up some sunshine.
School holidays and Easter also fall in this period, which makes it a great time of the year to bring the kids. For couples, we recommend May and June as a perfect getaway!
WAHI Wedding? This is the ideal time to tie the knot or host any other special events with us as the weather is less variable.
June brings with it the start of winter. But don’t be alarmed our “winter” in Queensland is not a real winter. In fact, a trip to WAHI makes for the perfect winter escape! The days are often clear, blue and boast an average temperature of 24°C. We do get still get some chilly evenings and breezes, so make sure to pack a jacket.
July - September
July brings with it some mild to warm weather with occasional showers, as well as plenty of family fun due to the July school holidays. By August our weather starts to crank back up, and the glorious days continue into September as we begin to approach summer.
With an average temperature of 23°C (being a bit cooler in July, and warmer in September), it’s another great time period to book special occasions!
October- December
This time period is one of the most popular times to visit, for both couples and families. The weather is hot, sunny and glorious, averaging 28°C. There is an increased chance of showers due to the tropical climate, but these usually quickly pass making way for blue skies again. Typically, these months are less tropical than the post-Christmas months.
December is particularly exciting as there is plenty of island festivities over the Christmas and New Year period! Why not tell Santa there’s been a slight change of address, and then stay to welcome in the New Year the WAHI way.
So when to visit?
The question really should be when not to visit? Year-round you are sure to have an amazing time at Hamilton Island!
