It’s time to defrost! Warm up this spring with a holiday in the Whitsundays!

Allow me to paint you a picture.

It’s a 26-degree day... you’re being smothered in beautiful, warm sunshine while you’re relaxing by a lagoon-style pool. The only sound you can hear apart from your own slow and deep breathing is the sound of rustling tropical tree branches in the breeze and soft splashing water. You’re in paradise.

Want to hear some amazing news? We can help you make that little daydream a reality.

Spring is the perfect time to book your tropical holiday in the Whitsundays. The island is beautiful year-round, but there’s something about spring that you just don’t want to miss out on.

Here’s what a spring day on the island can look like:

6 am Sunrise

If you’re a fan of beautiful sunrises then witnessing the sunrise on the island is something for the bucket list. The sun peeks out from below the horizon across the ocean and throws a light show of colours that will take your breath away.

If sunrises aren’t your thing, stay comfortable and enjoy a peaceful morning from your apartment before the rest of the world wakes up.

7-8 am Breakfast With a View

It doesn’t matter if you’re enjoying your first meal of the day from one of the island’s delicious eateries or cooking in your own fully self-contained apartment. You’ll instantly be in holiday mode with views of the ocean, the tropical landscaped gardens at WAHI and a sandy beach at your doorstep.

9 am Plan Out Your Day

The options are endless when it comes to planning your day on the island.

Let’s take a look at a couple of the activities you could get up to:

  • Discover the island on foot. Explore hidden coves and vistas along bushwalking trails all within walking distance from WAHI. For a list of our favourite hiking tracks check out our blog post here.
  • Head out to explore. You can tour The Great Barrier Reef, visit the local wildlife park, enjoy a few rounds of golf at the Hamilton Island Golf Club or enjoy one of the many day cruises on offer. Check out more experiences here.
  • Treat yourself to a spot of shopping at the Hamilton Island Marina Village; or
  • Stay close to home and enjoy the WAHI resort amenities including the lagoon-style pool and spa, guest lounge or simply kick your feet up and relax in your apartment with a good book.

12 pm Let’s Lunch

The island is home to award-winning restaurants including:

Sails Restaurant

Featuring a family-friendly atmosphere with spectacular views overlooking Catseye Beach, Sails Restaurant offers a casual à la carte dining experience.

Manta Ray

With a family-friendly atmosphere and relaxed Australian menu, Manta Ray is one of the island's most popular lunch spots.

Marina Tavern

With indoor and outdoor seating available, the Marina Tavern is perfect for a laid-back lunch with the family.

Check out more dining experiences available here but if dining out isn’t your scene, just hit the local IGA supermarket and prepare lunch in your fully equipped WAHI kitchen.

5-6 pm Sunset

One of our top recommendations to tick off your list during your stay is spending sunset at One Tree Hill. Enjoy the dimming sunlight with a cocktail in hand at this iconic island destination.

7 pm Dinner

Similar to your lunch options, dinner on the island is extraordinary. From award-winning Sails Restaurant to the relaxed and romantic scene at Romano’s Italian, to good times galore at Tako (the island’s Mexican fave), you’ll easily find something to fit your mood and culinary desire.
