You’ve just woken up in paradise, the birds are chirping and you’re taking in the stunning view of the Whitsundays on your very own balcony. It’s paradise. But, it’s also hot. Like, real hot. And the humidity is doing you no favours, either. Luckily Hamilton Island is full of activities to keep you cool as the mercury rises. And here at WAHI, we know exactly what to do when the heat hits. Here’s our advice.

The water is calling

Whether it’s hiring a yacht to head out to the reef, or getting some fresh ocean spray on your face while you paddle a kayak or SUP around the bay, there’s no better way to cool down than hitting the water! Talk to us about day trips to the reef, or the best places to hire boats, kayaks or SUPs! Or, if you’re the “maxo relaxo” type, why not just whittle away the day (and the heat) in our very own Lagoon Pool! We’ll have a poolside lounge chair waiting.

Slip into a siesta

The Sun, salt, and a big lunch can put you in a comatose state, embrace it. It’s nap time. After all, you’re on holidays in paradise, it’d be rude not to! Besides, retiring to the comfort of your own apartment for a few hours, blasting the A/C, and kicking your feet up for a few hours sounds like paradise to us!

Summer nights

After your sneaky siesta, you’ve got a few options. Stay in and bliss out on your balcony with a home cooked meal. Or head out to one of Hamilton Island’s world-class bars and restaurants. Both excellent options, but we think a summer night out on Hamilton Island is truly an experience not to be missed. Perhaps begin your evening at the Reef Lounge for some cocktails, then work your way to a delicious feast at TAKO before finally ending your summer evening with a cool treat at the iconic Ice Cream Parlour.

A few days in the beautiful Queensland sun is sure to make you glow when you head back home but when the sun is beating down on you always remember to slip, slop, slap and stay hydrated so you can continue to experience the beauty of the Whitsundays.
