With Father’s Day fast approaching, the frantic search for the perfect gift begins. You want to get him something that shows how much you appreciate him. Something that shows him how much you value and want to spoil him but…

Who else knows a dad who deserves the world, but says he doesn’t want anything?
Who else goes insane trying to find him the perfect gift regardless? And finally...
Who else ends up buying him a carton of his favourite beer the day before Father’s Day out of desperation?

We suggest taking full advantage of the situation by booking a family holiday on the island, calling it a Father’s Day present and starting to count down the days until your vacation in paradise!

From sporty dads who love to work up a sweat to chilled out dads who enjoy nothing more than relaxing in the sunshine —the Whitsundays is the perfect destination for dads of all walks of life!

Check out a few island activities below that will not only make his day but his entire year.

For the Sporty Dad

If he loves to get active and sometimes can even get a little competitive (what dad doesn’t?), there are plenty of options on the island to make his stay memorable.

Give him the day of his dreams with a hit of golf at the famous Hamilton Island Golf Club. The 18-hole, par 71 golf course is described as a ‘must do’ for both novice and professional golfers, catering to all experience levels. Make sure to stop by the Clubhouse after your game for a spectacular lunch and some breathtaking views.

Or why not show dad how much you love him by hiring a tennis court at the Sports Club, where he will be sure to have an ace day! Enjoy a relaxing game or make things a little more interesting with a family Grand Slam. Not a fan of tennis? The Sports Club also offers a multi-purpose court where you can play a game of basketball, netball or soccer.

For the Thrill-Seeking Dad

Give dad an unforgettable, adrenaline-pumping experience with a jet-ski tour. As he zips through the waterways of the Whitsundays with a tour guide, he will also get to explore some of the island's most beautiful and secret locations.

If dad is looking to try something new, why not go all out and book him in for a parasailing or windsurfing adventure—it’s the perfect fast-paced way to get a new perspective on the island’s gorgeous surroundings.

We know that some dads prefer to keep their feet dry, so don’t worry, the island has plenty of land-based activities for him to choose from too. Explore the island on an off-road ATV tour, get a birds-eye view of the Whitsundays with a helicopter ride or take the family go-kart racing on the island’s purpose-built racetrack.
