Winter is a beautiful time for walking on Hamilton Island, and with a range of trails and vistas on offer, there’s plenty of choice for nature lovers of all abilities.

We’ve put together some recommendations of the most popular walks to try on your trip.

Passage Peak

The most challenging walk on the island, the Passage Peak hike will take you up to the highest point of the Whitsundays. The view is incredible. Walkers can access the Passage Peak trail just behind WAHI.

Escape Beach

The Escape Beach trail will take you through the bushland, to emerge and find a secluded, picturesque cove. Bring your bathers for a dip or simply enjoy the tranquillity of this beautiful spot.

Coral Cove

Another beautiful waterside destination is Coral Cove. It’s best to start this walk from the Palm Valley entrance, so take the complimentary shuttle bus, or use your buggy if you hire one, to get there.

Whitehaven Beach lookout

This walk isn’t on Hamilton Island, but is definitely worth doing if you head over to Whitehaven Beach during your stay. The lookout point has incredible views over Hill Inlet, an incredible combination of picturesque white sands, vibrant greenery and blue water.

For all walks, don’t forget to wear a hat and take water and sunscreen with you. Hats and water bottles are available for purchase at reception.
